Lu Weibing, president of Xiaomi Group, revealed at the earnings call this evening (the 18th) that Xiaomi's robot will make its first public appearance at the 2026 World Robot Conference.
According to NBD, Lu Weibing believes that the first priority for the robotics industry at present should be the practical deployability of robots. “We believe that the most important application scenario for deployment right now is on production lines in smart manufacturing factories, where robots can replace people in certain tasks. In terms of the technology roadmap, we will continue to emphasize technological versatility: on the one hand, versatility in the robot's physical dimensions, and on the other, versatility in the model.”
Xiaomi has reportedly chosen a full-size humanoid robot approximately 1.7 meters tall. Lu Weibing emphasized that Xiaomi will not develop robots independently, but will coordinate with its entire Human × Car × Home ecosystem in scenarios including smart factories, intelligent mobility, and homes.
According to IT Home, the 2026 World Robot Conference will be held from August 19 to 23.
