According to a Xinhua News Agency report today, reporters learned at a press conference held by the National Development and Reform Commission that in the field of intelligent robots, for every 10 humanoid and quadrupedal intelligent robots sold globally, 8 are made in China.
Jiang Yi, director of the Policy Research Office and spokesperson of the National Development and Reform Commission, said at the press conference that in the biopharmaceutical sector, 38 innovative drugs were approved for market launch in the first half of this year, including 31 domestically developed innovative drugs. The total value of outbound technology licensing for innovative drugs was approximately 100 billion US dollars (note: equivalent to approximately 676.574 billion yuan at the current exchange rate).
In the aerospace sector, 41 C919 large passenger aircraft have been delivered cumulatively, with safe flight time exceeding 130,000 hours. The successful completion of the Long March 10B launch vehicle's first launch-and-recovery mission marked a major breakthrough in China's reusable rocket technology.
From a global perspective, China's humanoid robot industry has performed remarkably. Morgan Stanley previously raised its forecast for China's humanoid robot shipments in 2026 to 50,000 units, nearly double its previous forecast of 28,000 units.
The institution estimates that China's humanoid robot market will reach 2 billion US dollars in 2026 (equivalent to approximately 13.531 billion yuan at the current exchange rate), rising to 15 billion US dollars by 2030 (equivalent to approximately 101.486 billion yuan at the current exchange rate), with annual shipments expected to reach 446,000 units.
In recent years, China has sought to take a dominant position in the global humanoid robot industry. An increasing number of domestic companies have begun expanding production, reducing manufacturing costs, and deploying embodied-intelligence robots in real-world production environments. At the same time, the Chinese government has included embodied intelligence in the future industries plan for the “15th Five-Year Plan.”
According to data from market research firm Omdia, 13,000 humanoid robots were shipped globally in 2025, with all of the top five positions occupied by Chinese companies. US companies Figure AI and Tesla ranked only seventh and ninth, respectively.
