At yesterday’s earnings call, Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing revealed that Xiaomi’s robot will make its first public appearance at the 2026 World Robot Conference (WRC).

According to the National Business Daily, the robot stands about 1.70 meters tall, weighs 66 kilograms, and has 66 degrees of freedom throughout its body, half of them concentrated in its hands. The product is still at the prototype stage. After its domestic debut, it will be exhibited in Europe.

Based on currently available information, Xiaomi has chosen a full-size design of about 1.7 meters for the robot’s body. Lu Weibing emphasized that Xiaomi will not develop robots independently, but will coordinate them with its “Human × Car × Home” ecosystem to enable collaboration in smart factories, intelligent mobility, homes, and other scenarios. At the technical level, Xiaomi is focusing on general-purpose capabilities across two major areas: the robot’s physical hardware dimensions and embodied large models.

Lu Weibing said Xiaomi places greater emphasis on practical deployability in its humanoid robot strategy, with intelligent manufacturing production lines as the primary deployment scenario at this stage. Previously, the robot completed a four-month “internship” on the production line at a Xiaomi automotive factory, mainly performing industrial tasks such as loading self-tapping nuts and folding material boxes. After continuous iteration, its success rate for nut-loading tasks has risen to 98%, leaving only a small gap from human performance.

In addition, the robot has expanded from new scenarios such as loading center-console side covers to various assembly and logistics tasks, achieving a transition from “single-process operation” to “multi-robot collaboration.”

At the technology foundation level, Xiaomi has developed its own Xiaomi-Robotics series of embodied foundation models, connecting the processes of visual recognition, language understanding, and action execution.

In August 2022, Xiaomi unveiled the full-size humanoid bionic robot CyberOne (note: its internal nickname was “Tie Da”), which stood 1.77 meters tall, weighed 52 kilograms, and had 21 degrees of freedom across its joints. The product was unveiled nearly two months earlier than Tesla’s Optimus prototype. Since then, Xiaomi has released little information about its robotics efforts.
