The technology media outlet Windows Latest published a blog post yesterday (August 7), reporting that Microsoft has begun rolling out a Copilot AI feature called Explain This for the classic Outlook app on Windows 10 and Windows 11.
With this feature, users only need to select any text after opening an email, and Copilot will provide a relevant contextual explanation based on the content of the entire email.
Microsoft wrote in the update notes that this improvement gives users greater control over Copilot, allowing them to decide when and how it assists with tasks, thereby integrating productivity, clarity, and decision-making into their workflows.
As for the timeline, Microsoft expects to complete the rollout of Explain This for classic Outlook by the end of September, with most users expected to see it in early September.
