SpaceXAI has launched a new artificial intelligence software designed to work like a team of AI agents, receiving and processing various tasks around the clock. This is also the latest move by Elon Musk’s company to catch up with competitors after falling behind Anthropic and OpenAI in the AI agent market.
The new product, called Grok Bot, can seamlessly handle a variety of professional tasks. The company said on Tuesday local time that the tool can log in to different applications and websites, retain information from previous tasks, and allow different bots to share relevant details and contextual information with one another.
The product is part of Musk’s effort to help his company catch up in the AI race. SpaceXAI had previously begun falling behind competitors in the rapidly growing AI agent market. Musk’s AI company now uses the name SpaceXAI. In May this year, it launched its first coding agent to compete with Anthropic’s related products, and subsequently launched a new Grok 4.5 built on Cursor.
In June this year, SpaceX reached an agreement worth 60 billion US dollars (Note: approximately 405.322 billion yuan at the current exchange rate) to acquire AI coding startup Cursor. As demand surges for tools that can automatically write and debug software code, Cursor has become an important participant in the tech industry’s so-called “vibe coding” era.
Musk’s competitors are also considering shifting from individual AI agents to teams made up of multiple agents. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently met with US lawmakers in Washington and discussed topics including the evolving trend of AI agents collaborating with one another to complete work.
SpaceXAI said it is already using the product internally across its engineering, growth, and marketing teams. Grok Bot can help sales teams find new customer accounts and automatically draft emails overnight; it can also extract receipts from emails to assist finance teams with related tasks.
The product aims to simplify the process of assigning tasks to large numbers of AI agents, enabling multiple AI agents to work together to complete tasks.
Musk’s AI business was previously called xAI and is now working to persuade banks, investment firms, and other businesses to adopt Grok AI products, with the hope of increasing revenue while supporting the billionaire’s plan to transform SpaceX into an artificial intelligence company.
Last week, Musk said during SpaceX’s earnings call that the company had made progress in AI and revealed that its next-generation model, Grok 4.6, could be released as early as this week.
