South Korean AI ASIC chip design company FuriosaAI announced locally that it is partnering with I/ONX HPC and Velox to build an AI data center in Stockholm, Sweden.
The project, developed, managed, and operated by Velox, recently broke ground. It has a total power capacity of 15MW, including 10MW of critical IT capacity. The first 2MW of computing capacity is expected to come online in early 2027, increasing to 10MW within the same year.
FuriosaAI will provide a total of 7,000 RNGD accelerators for the project. Together with an equal number of GPUs from NVIDIA and AMD, these accelerators will form a heterogeneous computing infrastructure, with I/ONX HPC's Symphony SixtyFour platform responsible for workload matching and compute scheduling.
