According to CCTV News, on August 8, the State Administration for Market Regulation released data showing that in the first half of the year, 561,000 new enterprises related to the “8 emerging industries + 9 future industries” were established nationwide.
Note:
The 8 emerging industries: next-generation information technology, new energy, new materials, high-end equipment, new energy vehicles, green environmental protection, civil aviation, and marine engineering equipment;
The 9 future industries: the metaverse, brain-computer interfaces, quantum information, humanoid robots, generative artificial intelligence, biomanufacturing, future displays, future networks, and new energy storage.
Some cutting-edge fields saw explosive growth: 55,000 new enterprises were established in the generative artificial intelligence sector, up 28.0% year on year; 116,000 new enterprises were established in the humanoid robotics sector, up 9.5% year on year, accelerating the formation of new economic growth drivers.
The report also noted that manufacturing enterprises are accelerating their pace of transformation and upgrading:
Equipment manufacturing is advancing toward the high end: In the first half of the year, 28,000 new enterprises were established in the high-end equipment manufacturing sector, up 2.5% year on year. Among them, the intelligent equipment manufacturing sector grew by 6.4%, while the urban rail transit equipment manufacturing sector grew by 4.4%.
High-tech manufacturing maintained strong growth: As of the end of June, the total number of high-tech manufacturing enterprises reached 330,000, with 15,000 established during the first half of the year. Among them, the number of newly established enterprises in the spacecraft and launch vehicle manufacturing sector grew by 185.7% year on year, while the optical fiber and cable manufacturing sector grew by 129.4%, and the integrated circuit manufacturing sector by 24.2%.
Enterprises in industries with excess capacity are being orderly phased out: In the first half of the year, 7,632 enterprises related to the new energy vehicle industry, 5,089 related to the photovoltaic industry, and 155 related to the lithium battery industry were deregistered, representing year-on-year increases of 4.6%, 8.3%, and 12.3%, respectively.
