Zhipu officially announced today that the GLM Coding Plan subscription is returning, with adjustments to package prices and rules. From now through August 15, 2026, new annual and quarterly subscription packages will be available at limited-time discounts of 30% and 20%, respectively.
As ITHome reported in April this year, Zhipu released an explanation regarding the migration and compensation for legacy GLM Coding Plan packages, stating that automatic renewal of legacy GLM Coding Plan packages (versions without weekly limits) would be discontinued in order to continuously improve the product experience, unify the package system, and provide more stable support for future feature and benefit upgrades.
The new packages adopt a completely transparent points system. Input, output, cache-hit Tokens, and the use of different models and MCP capabilities are all converted into points according to publicly available rules. How the quota is calculated, how much has been used, and how much remains are all clearer, making quota usage more predictable.
For both new and existing users, quota is deducted at the off-peak multiplier throughout the entire weekend.
In addition, Coding Plan users can now apply to try the High-Speed version, with existing package users receiving priority access.
Users with current packages, including team package users, will not be affected in terms of price, benefits, quota, or calculation methods. They can continue using, renewing, and upgrading their packages under the original terms.
However, it should be noted that existing users currently on version v1 (without weekly rate limits) cannot renew or upgrade their previous package because Zhipu took its earliest package product off the market in February. For these users, benefits will remain unchanged during the validity period. Before expiration, they can purchase and use the package long-term at the v2 version price before this adjustment (this feature will be launched as soon as possible within 2 weeks).
GLM Coding Plan is a subscription package designed specifically for AI-assisted coding, offering natural-language programming, code debugging and repair, codebase Q&A, automated task processing, and other features.
