The Information reported earlier that NVIDIA is considering investing “billions of dollars” in the artificial intelligence startup Perplexity AI as part of its latest funding round. The two parties are negotiating the deal and may also reach a technology licensing agreement.
The report states that Perplexity AI plans to raise a new funding round at a valuation of more than $30 billion (note: approximately RMB 201.873 billion at the current exchange rate), up over 60% from $18 billion last July.
Perplexity AI’s significantly higher valuation is driven by the rapid development of its Perplexity Computer workflow automation agent. The company’s annualized revenue has rapidly grown from less than $250 million at the beginning of 2026 to more than $750 million.
