Google today announced a major upgrade to Gemini Live, adding multiple productivity-focused integrations.
Gemini Live is an AI voice conversation app developed by Google. It can now integrate with Spark, a personal AI agent (available with AI Pro and higher-tier plans), allowing users to set up complex, multistep tasks across services such as the web, Google Drive, Docs, and Sheets using natural voice commands.
For example, when you are developing an idea, you can talk to Gemini while walking, sharing scattered thoughts, inspiration, and rough plans aloud. Spark can understand these brainstorming-style conversations, organize their central themes, and turn them into a clearly structured Google Docs outline when you sit down to start working.
According to IT Home, Gemini Live can also simplify family meal planning. Users only need to ask Gemini to maintain a weekly meal plan for their family. For example, if they ask it to plan a high-protein vegetarian menu, it can use recipes saved in Docs to automatically generate a corresponding shopping list.
Like the Gmail Live experience introduced previously, Gemini Live now also offers deep email integration. Users can ask by voice, “Do I have any new emails?” or “Did my child’s school send any urgent emails today?” They can also search, summarize, star, archive, or delete emails hands-free.
At the same time, Gemini Live can now connect to Daily Brief. Users can simply ask, “What’s in my brief today?” or “What do I have planned today?” Gemini will compile the day’s tasks and generate a summary of the full-day schedule.
The final update announced today integrates memories from past conversations and personal intelligence features into Gemini Live, enabling a personalized experience similar to text-based chats.
Google gave the examples: users can ask, “What was the name of the restaurant we visited when we went to New York last summer?” or “Can you find the recipe we discussed yesterday?” Gemini will search chat history and connected apps for relevant information and provide an accurate answer directly.
Google emphasized that when using Gemini Live, users do not need to determine whether a task should invoke Spark, Daily Brief, or a simple inbox search.
Google said: “You shouldn’t have to guess whether a task requires Spark, Daily Brief, or simply searching your inbox. The real magic of Gemini Live is that you never need to figure out which tool to use. In one continuous, uninterrupted conversation, it connects the information and tasks from throughout your day.”
