Big Tech Alert, an account that tracks updates from tech company CEOs and executives, posted an alert this morning saying that Elon Musk had just followed DeepSeek’s X account.
Yesterday (July 31), DeepSeek announced through its API documentation changelog that the official version of the DeepSeek-V4-Flash API had entered public beta, once again setting off excitement in the AI community with its exceptionally high cost-effectiveness.
DeepSeek announced that its post on X about the official release of DeepSeek-V4-Flash has received over 25,000 likes and more than 5,000 reposts.
It is worth noting that, in an interview with the British newspaper The Economist on July 23 local time, Musk said that China has strong capabilities in robotics and AI and that it is “very likely to become a leader at some point” in the future.
Musk specifically mentioned the latest progress in China’s large AI models. He was also impressed by the Kimi K3 model released by Moonshot AI. Musk believes that China has a decisive advantage in the AI race, with its power supply capacity being a key factor.
