The five-day 2026 World Robot Conference concluded in Beijing on August 23.
The conference featured 7 main forums and 71 concurrent events, bringing together more than 1,000 experts from China and abroad and releasing 44 new technologies and solutions;
The conference released the "Initiative for the Upward and Beneficial Development of Intelligent Robots," the "Top Ten Innovation Achievements and Top Ten High-Value Application Scenarios for Robots by Central State-Owned Enterprises," the "Application Requirements for Embodied Intelligence in Emergency Scenarios," the "Global Robot Application Exploration Program," and the 2026 Humanoid Robot Industry Development Report, among other results. It also announced the establishment of the World Model Expert Committee of the Chinese Institute of Electronics;
A total of 373 companies showcased more than 3,000 products, including 311 newly debuted products;
Thirty international organizations and 40 overseas companies participated extensively. More than 10,000 foreign visitors attended, while total on-site attendance reached 557,000.
Zhang Feng, Party Secretary of the Council of the Chinese Institute of Electronics and Chairman of the China Humanoid Robot and Embodied Intelligence 100-Person Council, said in his address that this year's conference showcased new robotic capabilities, new strength from innovation teams, and new achievements in international cooperation. Intelligent robots have moved beyond talent demonstrations into real-world tasks such as parcel sorting, noodle cooking, and product packing. In the first half of the year, China's humanoid robot shipments exceeded 40,000 units, accounting for 97% of the global total. Humanoid robots are moving from "jumping" and "running" toward working in factories and being used in homes. The Central State-Owned Enterprise Robot Innovation Consortium will open up ten high-value real-world scenarios to create a complete loop encompassing technical breakthroughs, scenario validation, and large-scale application.
The opening date of the 2027 World Robot Conference was also announced at the closing ceremony. On August 18, 2027, the conference will join people from all sectors of society in witnessing the broader possibilities of human-robot collaboration and exploring more ways robots can serve a better human life.
In addition, the 2027 Yizhuang Humanoid Robot Half Marathon, hosted by the Beijing Municipal People's Government, China Media Group, the Chinese Institute of Electronics, and the World Robot Cooperation Organization, will begin on April 18, 2027. Global recruitment officially opened at the closing ceremony.
