According to a report by Xinwaner today, the colored contact lens advertisement video on the Douyin homepage of “Fang Taozi,” the female lead in the AI short drama The Girl Who Was Laid Off, has been taken down.

The product advertisement had previously sparked widespread controversy. After the video was released, many netizens pointed out that AI virtual humans do not have real eyes and therefore cannot actually try on colored contact lenses, making it impossible for them to have a genuine experience of “wearing them comfortably for a day.”
