AMD announced today local time that AI computing power driven by its computing chips and Cisco networking chips is now live in Saudi Arabia, providing services to customers of HUMAIN, an AI company owned by Saudi Arabia's sovereign wealth fund PIF.
The AI infrastructure is equipped with AMD Instinct MI355X GPUs and EPYC CPUs. Its networking uses Cisco N9000 series switches based on Cisco Silicon One network processors and 800G optical systems, enabling large-scale, low-latency, highly resilient interconnects to support AI training and inference workloads.
On this foundation, HUMAIN has launched an all-in-one "AI in a Box" turnkey AI computing access solution for Saudi enterprise users, targeting entry-level application scenarios.
As part of the 1 GW partnership plan between AMD, Cisco, and HUMAIN, the three parties plan to deploy a new batch of AI infrastructure through a joint venture, based on AMD Instinct MI400 series GPUs, EPYC CPUs, the ROCm software stack, and Cisco networking. This deployment can reach 250 MW, is planned to begin in 2027, and is scheduled to come online in the second half of the same year.
In addition, AMD announced the launch of an ecosystem initiative with Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Digital Cooperation Organization. The initiative will provide developers, startups, and software engineers with open software tools, training, and community engagement programs to accelerate AI innovation.
