The National Speed Skating Oval, known as the “Ice Ribbon,” will host the 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games on August 22.
According to CCTV News today, the event has created an “athletes’ village” for these special “athletes” and spectators—the “Robot Home.”

The “Robot Home” is equipped with a digital management system and implements “one machine, one code” and “one battery, one code.” A quick scan enables teams to trace team information and equipment parameters, while check-in and checkout registration can be completed in 30 seconds, ensuring that every “athlete” competes with proper credentials and moves through the venue in an orderly manner.
The Humanoid Robot Industry Ecosystem Training and Evaluation Base meets the pre-event training needs of competitions such as scenario events and obstacle races. As of today (August 13), the base has been operating for 30 days and has hosted nearly 1,000 training sessions, providing the “athletes” with ample opportunities to prepare before the competition.
Relying on an embodied-intelligence robot management platform and encrypted dedicated communication links, the “Robot Home” can capture core operational data from every robot in real time, including joint temperature, movement status, and battery level. The platform is now connected to all 666 teams and 2,056 robots, helping every “athlete” compete with confidence.
The charging area has 200 charging cabinets, which can simultaneously meet the charging needs of no fewer than 1,200 batteries. It has also added approximately 100 independent charging stations to serve robots with non-removable batteries. In addition, energy supplies will be dynamically allocated according to actual competition needs, keeping every “athlete” fully powered.
The “Robot Home” also includes 3 public storage areas and 26 dedicated storage areas, with capacity for all participating robots. A maintenance area has also been designated and equipped with 24 repair stations, which can provide testing environments and lending services for commonly used repair tools at any time. This gives every “athlete” both a place to rest and stay safely, and a place for repairs and maintenance.
The 2nd World Humanoid Robot Games are jointly hosted by the Beijing Municipal People’s Government, China Media Group, and others. The event has attracted 666 teams and 2,056 robots from 16 countries across six continents to compete together. The total number of teams has increased by 138% year over year, while the number of robots has quadrupled.
Internationally, robot teams from the United States, Germany, Japan, and other countries will all take part. Brazil has also assembled five champion teams from the Robot Soccer World Cup to form a national team for the competition.
Domestically, 157 companies, 641 teams, and 1,975 robots have gathered at the venue. Nearly all leading companies are participating, along with 27 Project 985 universities. Domestic teams represent 30 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities, and special administrative regions, achieving truly widespread participation.
