SpaceXAI, owned by Elon Musk, announced yesterday (July 28) that its Grok 4.5 model is now available on the GitHub Copilot platform, inviting millions of developers worldwide to use it.
According to a blog post cited by IT Home, GitHub Copilot covers cloud agents, Copilot CLI, and the VS Code IDE, among other tools. Developers can switch models to call the Grok 4.5 model.
In terms of positioning, the Grok 4.5 model is designed specifically for fast, intelligent coding and complex, multi-step workflows. Its context window can support up to 500,000 tokens, and it supports text and image inputs, while offering three reasoning levels: low, medium, and high.
In terms of usage, the website Tunx noted after testing that Grok 4.5 performs excellently on terminal coding tasks in Visual Studio Code and Copilot CLI. It is particularly strong at scheduling tools in parallel and executing direct actions, making it well suited for exploratory development, solving complex tasks, and time-sensitive coding workflows.
In terms of pricing, billing is usage-based, at $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens.
