Notably, in the large-group 400-meter track event at this year's Games, the Honor robot Lightning crossed the finish line in an astonishing 40.6 seconds, breaking the human world record for the event.
In the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang Half Marathon and Humanoid Robot Half Marathon held on April 19 this year, Lightning, a humanoid robot from Honor's self-developed Monkey King Team, won the championship with a net time of 50 minutes 26 seconds. This result surpassed the human men's half-marathon world record of 57 minutes 20 seconds, set by Ugandan star Kiplimo in March 2026. Honor robots also swept the top six places in the event.
After Honor's Lightning robot broke the human half-marathon record and won the championship in April this year, development engineer Yao Bin revealed in an interview that the Lightning robot entered in the competition had been developed for only half a year and had undergone numerous prototype iterations. The robots finishing first, second, and third did not differ in structure or algorithms, but each made corresponding adjustments to its race strategy.
In addition, during preparations for the racing events at this year's Games, Lightning completed a 100-meter test, recording a time of 9 seconds 32 and a peak speed of 14.5 meters / second, once again breaking the previous human 100-meter world record of 9 seconds 58.
