Alibaba today released the all-new Qoder, an agent workbench built on Coding capabilities as its core foundation and designed for everyone.
According to the official introduction, tell Qoder what you want to accomplish, and it will understand the context, make a plan, call tools, execute tasks, and verify the results. You can view, adjust, or take over the entire process at any time.
The original Qoder IDE was released in August 2025 as an AI coding tool. To date, Qoder has accumulated more than 6 million users globally, with over 100,000 enterprise customers using Qoder.
The all-new Qoder shifts its primary focus from code engineering to agent tasks and adopts the industry's latest Harness technology:
It excels at long-chain autonomous workflows of “reading, modifying, verifying, and iterating”: independently retrieving code repositories, editing across files, running tests, and self-correcting based on real results.
Tiered permission modes and a tool allowlist mechanism require explicit authorization for sensitive operations.
It includes leading SOTA models from China and abroad, each deeply adapted for the platform. Harness also iterates collaboratively with Qwen models, creating end-to-end optimization advantages in long-context processing, automatic context compression, and tool-calling accuracy.
It supports long-term memory across sessions and periodically distills skills autonomously. The longer you use it, the better it understands your projects and habits.
For different task scenarios and users, Qoder also provides Coding and General modes. Coding mode is better suited to developers and code-related tasks, while General mode targets a broader range of users and scenarios. Users do not need to work with code directly and can still complete tasks with the help of Coding and tool capabilities.
In Qoder, Goal keeps the Agent working toward a clearly defined objective, while Plan helps it think through the path first. Memory, local projects, and runtime status provide the background needed for tasks. Browser Use and Computer Use enable it to operate webpages and desktop applications.
