The Information, a technology media outlet, published a post today (August 1), reporting that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman demonstrated a new AI model series called Astra at Capitol Hill in the United States this week, with a focus on improving long-horizon task processing capabilities.
Altman reportedly met with U.S. Senators Raphael Warnock and Bernie Moreno on July 29 this Wednesday, and also plans to meet with Mark Warner, the Democratic ranking member of the Senate Intelligence Committee.
According to the report, during the closed-door meeting, Altman demonstrated a new AI model called Astra. It supports agents in breaking down tasks, allowing multiple agents to work together to solve complex problems that a single agent cannot handle. The relevant screenshot is shown below:
