According to a Yonhap News Agency report published locally on the 30th, South Korean autonomous mobility company FutureLink has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Pony.ai (Pony.ai), planning to provide commercial mobility services in the South Korean market based on Pony.ai's seventh-generation Robotaxi.
The two companies conducted autonomous driving technology validation in Seoul's Gangnam autonomous driving demonstration zone last year, covering approximately 80,000 kilometers in total without any accidents. The initial planned scale for this commercial deployment is 200 vehicles, which will be manufactured by BAIC and are expected to obtain the relevant South Korean government certification in 2028.
FutureLink and Pony.ai will establish a joint venture in South Korea. FutureLink will be responsible for market access and fleet operations, while Pony.ai will provide autonomous driving technology support. FutureLink said that data collected in South Korea will not be transferred overseas.
