According to a report by technology media outlet Engadget today, Suno will add hidden watermarks to AI-generated music created on its platform. The company is currently facing multiple legal disputes, while the music industry continues to pressure it.
Suno will use new audio watermarking and fingerprint identification technology for AI-generated songs on its platform. When a song is uploaded to another platform, users will be able to determine whether it was generated by Suno.
Suno will also impose download restrictions to address the repeated uploading of AI-generated music to major streaming platforms. The move comes as industry giants including Sony Music, Universal Music, and Warner Music have formed an alliance calling for AI-generated junk songs to be barred from global music charts.
