Meta Launches Native Meta AI App for Mac: Window Sharing and Cross-App Dictation

Meta today launched its new Meta AI app for Mac, which is currently available as a beta.

The app is primarily aimed at businesses and content creators and integrates with Facebook and Instagram. Its built-in analytics tools can answer questions about account performance. It also supports connecting to Google Workspace to access relevant documents. Note that a professional Facebook or Instagram account is required to use the Google Workspace access feature.

Meta says users can share a window by capturing their screen while using the app, allowing Meta AI to provide suggestions based on the content they are currently working on. The app also includes a dictation feature that can be used in all apps on a Mac.

Meta is also adding new Meta AI features for business users across several of its platforms. These features enable the AI assistant to handle repetitive tasks and reminders and generate presentations, documents, and spreadsheets.

However, content creators and businesses may need to carefully consider privacy issues when enabling Meta AI. Meta's privacy policy explicitly states that users' “interactions with Meta AI features” will be used to train its models.

According to IT Home, Meta AI is free to use, but Meta also offers a Meta One subscription plan that can increase usage limits.
