Danish chronic disease drug giant Novo Nordisk announced today that it has entered into a strategic partnership with Amazon AWS to accelerate drug discovery and modernize Novo Nordisk’s operations through agentic artificial intelligence and cloud technology.
The agreement makes AWS Novo Nordisk’s preferred cloud service provider and strategic AI partner, with the goal of accelerating drug discovery and modernizing its technology infrastructure to prepare for the next generation of medicines.
As part of the collaboration, the two companies have established an AI co-innovation center at Novo Nordisk’s existing facility in London, UK. Novo Nordisk’s research and development teams will work alongside engineers, AI specialists, and applied scientists from Amazon AWS, using AWS AI technologies as well as Novo Nordisk’s data and insights to shorten the time from identifying a drug target to first-in-human dosing.
