According to CCTV News, the 2026 World Robot Conference opened yesterday (August 19) in Beijing, bringing together major achievements and debut products from the global robotics sector. More than 3,000 exhibits were showcased at the 2026 World Robot Conference, including a group of robots designed to venture into dangerous restricted areas. From firefighting and bomb disposal to high-altitude operations and high-risk industrial inspections, technology is being used to replace workers in directly facing hazards.
The report featured an electro-hydraulic hybrid super-humanoid robot being displayed publicly for the first time. Standing approximately 4 meters tall, it projects a sense of power unlike that of ordinary humanoid robots as its dexterous hands extend and open.

By combining digital hydraulic technology with electric motors, the robot can break through force limits ranging from kilograms to thousands of tons. This “giant” is targeting challenging and high-risk applications such as nuclear power operations and maintenance, deep-sea operations, and logistics handling.
Exhibitor Yang Tao said that deep-sea development and nuclear environments, for example, can make use of dexterous arms and heavy-payload robots to replace human workers.
In addition to massive robots, agile robot dogs are also seeking to demonstrate their capabilities by taking on tasks in high-risk environments. In dangerous mining environments, a robot dog serves as an intelligent safety officer. Equipped with various devices, including LiDAR, infrared cameras, and gas sensors, it can enter hazardous open areas and tunnels that are difficult for people to reach, collect and process multidimensional environmental data, and provide reliable data to support mine safety decisions.
