According to Blue Whale Technology, Qianxin founder and CEO Zhao Tongyang discussed the cost of humanoid robots in a media interview at the 2026 World Robot Conference.
Zhao Tongyang said that the cost of a general-purpose humanoid robot has fallen below RMB 100,000 per unit.
Three years ago, a general-purpose humanoid robot cost more than RMB 1 million per unit. Today, its cost has fallen below RMB 100,000.
It should be clarified that we are referring to general-purpose humanoid robots capable of practical deployment and operation, rather than toy products priced at around RMB 1,000. The two are not comparable.
At present, general-purpose humanoid robots that can be deployed in factories and homes and perform real-world tasks have costs in the RMB 100,000 range. Since large-scale mass production has not yet been established, there remains considerable room for further cost reductions.
Regarding the humanoid robot supply chain, Zhao Tongyang said that China's domestic humanoid robot supply chain has become increasingly well developed, drawing deeply on the country's mature manufacturing advantages accumulated over decades. However, the transformation of traditional manufacturing toward precision production of core robot components still requires additional technical expertise and experience.
Over the past two to three years, both the capacity and performance of specialized core components for humanoid robots have improved substantially.
Specifically, the industry's component production capacity has continued to rise while prices have continued to fall. Taking ball screws as an example, their unit price has dropped from RMB 10,000–20,000 in the early years to RMB 1,000–2,000 today, a tenfold decrease over three years. Prices of core components such as reducers have generally been cut in half.
In May this year, the Qianxin Intelligent Manufacturing (Shenzhen Honghualing) base began operations, and the first batch of T800 humanoid robots rolled off the line successfully. The company said that the production line integrates intelligent manufacturing, research and development, and testing, and can produce one humanoid robot every 15 minutes.
