Perplexity AI announced the launch of Portable Computer on the 25th local time. It is a localized version of Perplexity Computer, a multi-model orchestration agent and digital employee, enabling private workflows while calling on cloud computing power only when needed.
IT Home learned that Portable Computer runs the Qwen 3.8 27B model or the PPLX 27B model post-trained by Perplexity AI. Perplexity is developing a fine-tuned Nemotron 3.5 Lightning variant to enable ultra-fast responses.
Portable Computer will initially support DGX Spark running Linux. Support for Windows and PCs with GeForce RTX / RTX Pro discrete graphics cards will arrive soon.
