Cloudflare announced the launch of Kitesurf the day before yesterday, a cloud browser built specifically for AI agents.
IT Home learned that AI uses browsers differently from humans. Rather than focusing on visual elements such as tabs and UI, AI prioritizes managing context windows, performance, and scalability, while also guarding against attacks such as prompt injection.
The Kitesurf browser runs on Cloudflare’s Workers service platform. It can browse websites and fill out forms, and developers can control it through code and interact with headless browser instances through Cloudflare’s platform.
In addition, Kitesurf consumes fewer computing resources than Chromium, significantly reducing operating costs and enabling AI agents to browse the web more efficiently. The browser is currently in testing, with the official version to be released in the future.
