Deepseek Operational

Deepseek is DeepSeek's platform for models, conversational applications, and developers. Personal users can chat with the current flagship models through the web or app, while developers can call models through the API or use DeepSeek Harness to assemble Agent workflows.

The official product line has moved from the earlier R1 and V3.1 to the DeepSeek V4 series.

DeepSeek-V4-Pro is available on the web, in the app, and through the API. V4-Flash provides another option, while V4-Flash-Vision-Exp is intended for experimental visual understanding. The API supports thinking and non-thinking modes, low/high/max thinking intensity, JSON output, tool calling, the Responses API, and the Anthropic API.

DeepSeek Harness combines models, tools, skills, sessions, sandboxes, storage, loops, scheduling, and interfaces through plugins, and provides multiple operating modes.

Personal users can use it for Chinese-language questions and answers, writing, information organization, reasoning, and coding assistance. Developers can integrate V4 models into applications or connect existing Agent tools through the Responses API.

Teams building coding Agents or composable workflows can evaluate the open-source Harness's Standard, PTC, Minimal, and Creative modes, but the developer preview is better suited to experimentation and technical validation.

Both V4-Flash-Vision-Exp and DeepSeek Harness are experimental or preview releases and should not be treated as stable production services. The API is currently billed by token and distinguishes between peak and off-peak periods. Model names, pricing, context, and concurrency limits should be verified on the official pricing page.

Model responses, code, and tool calls still require human review. When connecting files, networks, and sandboxes, restrict permissions and protect sensitive data.
